Adriana Abshire

Adriana is an Industrial Engineer with eight years experience in the Coal Industry as a Project Engineer writing and designing surface and underground coal permits. She is highly skilled and can speak Spanish and English fluently. Adriana is a mother of two and enjoys baking and spending time with her family.

Brack Quillen

Brack has worked in the Mining Industry for the past ten years and was a member of an Underground Coal Mine Rescue Team.  Brack is an avid comic book fan and he enjoys target shooting and lifting weights.

Garland Couch

Born Sept, 1973 in Whitesburg, Kentucky, Garland, graduated from Whitesburg High in July 1991.  He worked as a Lab Tech for nine years performing coal and soil analysis and worked in Maintenance Planning and Asset Management for twelve years.

J. Paul Gorman

With an education in drafting and design and a technical drawing background, Paul has been able to work in positions that allowed him to see the changes in the coal industry more directly. He has always utilized software throughout his life in one way or another, but mainly as an end user. For Paul, the idea of working on the development side of an application is a dream come true.

Although Gorman sees the world from a technical viewpoint and love the science behind the scenes, he also loves nature and the outdoors. He says, "This is just one of the reasons I believe in the mission defined by Bit Source; not just to enrich the region with a new resource, but to allow its workers to remain in the place they call home."

James Johnson

Born the youngest and only son of VH and Edith Johnson in February 1967, James has lived his entire life in the Pikeville area, living at Sookey Creek, near Robinson Creek. He is the proud father of two sons, Neal and Noah, and has been married for 27 years to his wife, Donetta. James attended Virgie High School and Pikeville College and he has worked since he was fifteen years old.  He considers his employment with Bit Source as "just my third real job." Johnson, a recently ordained minister of the Baptist faith, attends Dorton General Baptist Church where he is the youth pastor. His hobbies include hiking, fishing, football, and being with his family.

Jamie Adams

A Knott County, Kentucky native, Jamie just recently graduated from Hazard Community College with a Associates Degree in Network Administration.  After getting laid off from the coal mines and graduating from college he began his employment at Bit Source.

John Handshoe

Knott county native John Handshoe received his Bachelors degree in mathematics and physical science education from Alice Lloyd College and his Masters degree in science education from Morehead State University.  He is the father of two sons.

Justin Hall

Justin has over fifteen years experience in software and website development.  He has worked with and led teams in a wide array of projects for Fortune 500 companies, start ups, non-profits, and small businesses.  A native Kentuckian from Elkhorn City, Justin began working in technology shortly after graduating from Pikeville College (now UPike) in 1997.  In 2001, Hall started JD Media in Lexington, Kentucky.  Recently he has worked with several top agencies and tech companies in Lexington, Cincinnati, and San Francisco.  A believer in Agile Development, Source Control, Open Source, Quality Assurance, and High Touch, Hall is excited about the opportunities surrounding Bit Source.  He can be found on Linked In, Twitter, and many other social networks.  

Michael Harrison

Former underground coal miner who grew up in Louisville, Kentucky., Michael is 35 years old and a father of one daughter. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science. in Computer Electronic Networking from Eastern Kentucky University in 2003.  Michael moved to eastern Kentucky in 2008 to work underground.

Payton May

A Pikeville Kentucky native, Payton received a Bachelor Degree in Architecture from the University of Kentucky and a Master of Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia.  He is an artist and designer at heart and carries a great interest in graphic and web design.

Shawn Hopkins

Pike County native Shawn Hopkins has worked in journalism, public relations, freelance writing, blogging and social media management. He's looking forward to expanding his skillset and starting a new career at Bit Source.

William Stevens

Previously William worked as a Surface Miner.  He is 32 years-old and from Kimper, Kentucky. Married with three beautiful kids, Stevens loves going to church and in his spare time he likes to spend time with his family and watch the Kentucky Wildcats and Seattle Seahawks.
